The BEF team is pleased to announce its March investment into COAT Trading Ltd, t/a COAT Paints. COAT is a climate-positive paint company with B Corp certification, selling a unique range of colours and 100% accurate peel and stick samples directly to homeowners and design professionals online at www.coatpaints.com.

Founders Rob Abrahams and Rob Green established the company in March 2020 after building experience in large consultancy and home decoration companies. Throughout the pandemic, COAT supplied mix-on-demand, carbon neutral paints to householders wanting to improve their surroundings. Rapid growth attracted the attention of Pembroke VCT, who supplied early-stage funding to the company. Following the establishment of relationships with homebuilders and interior designers, BEF co-invested with Pembroke in a further fundraising round, to fuel expansion of marketing partnerships and development of products such as breathable clay paint.
